Terry Sutter, MA, Christian Mediator, Conflict Management Coach, Organizational Consultant and Court-Appointed Parenting Coordinator
Terry earned her Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of West Florida and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Arizona State University, West.
Terry specializes in conflict resolution and Christian mediation. She helps individuals resolve their conflict in a peaceful and biblically faithful manner. Christian mediation is used in a wide range of contexts, including:
Personal and professional relationship conflict
Marital and family conflict
Divorce/Custody/Parenting/Property division
Post-decree disputes
Church conflict (staff/members/pastors)
Business and employment/workplace disputes
HOA and neighborhood disputes
Student/family disputes with school administration/districts
There are many benefits to using Christian mediation and the Bible clearly instructs us to settle our disputes with the assistance of other believers and not go before unbelievers in court, (Matthew 18:15-20, 1 Corinthians 6:6.)
In addition to mediation, Terry offers one-on-one Christian conflict resolution coaching and educational workshops. Workshops currently include: (1) Effective Communication Skills, (2) Understanding and Resolving Conflict, (3) Christian Mediation Skills, and (4) Understanding and Managing Anger.
Terry is also available for organizational development projects designed to prevent, manage, and resolve conflict in any type of organization (including churches). This is done using any of the following: assessments, interviews, surveys, focus group meetings, and training.
Terry’s relevant training and over six years of experience include:
• Certified Christian Family Mediator through the American Association for Christian Counselors
• Conflict Coaching, Peacemaker Ministries
• Nonviolent Communication Training, Dr. Marshall Rosenberg
• Extensive training (240 hrs) in mediation and negotiation, including training at the esteemed Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University's School of Law; and the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution, Cornell University
• "Leading the Church Through Difficult Moments" training at Pepperdine University
• Considerable independent study of biblical conflict resolution
• Mediator Panelist for the:
