Dr. Michael earned his Doctorate degree from Kennedy-Western University and his Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Denver Seminary. Dr. Michael has roots in Arizona and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Grand Canyon University. Dr. Michael has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona since 1997 and also serves as part time faculty at Arizona Christian University, teaching Behavioral Studies and supervising the campus counseling center. He is also a founding partner of Ministry Insights International, a Christian company in Scottsdale, Arizona which specializes in formulating, delivering, and training behavioral assessments designed to impact relationship change for couples, families, and ministry teams.
Dr. Michael specializes in marriage counseling with expertise in family systems, biblical integration, and cognitive therapies. He provides hourly counseling as well as Marriage Restoration Intensives, multi-hour counseling programs for couples in crisis. Along with marriage counseling, he provides counseling for individuals, teens, and families, and also specializes in working with professional athletes. Dr. Michael’s experience includes a long-held position as the Employee Assistance Program Director for the Arizona Diamondbacks Professional Baseball Club. His broad experience in behavioral health also includes work in group homes, court systems, residential treatment, human resources, schools, and Christian non-profit ministries.
Dr. Michael enjoys teaching and speaking on a regular basis. In addition to teaching psychology at Arizona Christian University, he has an active speaking schedule, providing insightful, motivating, and practical concepts to help spouses and marriages thrive. Dr. Michael has been teaching and speaking in churches, schools, radio programs, and ministries, offering seminars, keynotes, and retreat facilitation for large and small gatherings. Dr. Michael teaches weekend seminars on Heart Matters in Marriage, and is available to inspire and teach groups of couples to explore better ways to make lasting changes in their marriages. Dr. Michael also provides team assessment and team-building services in a corporate or ministry coaching capacity. He has been certified in coaching through the Integrity Solutions, Integrity Coaching System, and works to help leaders see value in each team member and helps teams understand their unique, God-given behavioral styles through the Ministry Insights assessment materials.
This current fee is an estimate for one 50 minute regular counseling/psychotherapy session. Fees may be subject to change depending on the the nature and type of services provided. All fees and services provided will be discussed and approved by informed consent before services are rendered.
